Harocaz

Harocaz is a Boston born, raised, and based Femme rapper. As a youth, her roots in the Caribbean-American community lead her to be a member of a local Caribbean cultural dance group and a steel band orchestra where she played the bass drum. Thereafter; the experience of performing was something she always sought out as a means of expression. Having always been influenced by the phrasings and bass lines of Dancehall, Reggae, & Soca music, she also acquired taste for rap music making her first purchased album Jay Zā€™s the Blue Print. After cutting her first track to an old school rap instrumental in her aunts closet at 18, Harocaz was motivated to cultivate a style she could enjoy making music in. Later she was introduced to the diverse sounds of the techno/house/dance scene, she was then determined to make a space to fit her flows. Drawing inspiration off of women like Crystal Waters, Grace Jones, Missy Elliot, Santigold, and more, Harocaz has carved out a pocket in club music for home girl raps and fun melodies that are reminiscent to a care free summer night of raving. Still posted in Boston, she has help run a successful club night called RARE FOOTAGE and continues to navigate her assumed lane in house-hop, laying each brick as she goes.
