Harocaz

Harocaz is a Boston born, raised, and based Femme rapper. As a youth, her roots in the Caribbean-American community lead her to be a member of a local Caribbean cultural dance group and a steel band orchestra where she played the bass drum. Thereafter; the experience of performing was something she always sought out as a means of expression. Having always been influenced by the phrasings and bass lines of Dancehall, Reggae, & Soca music, she also acquired taste for rap music making her first purchased album Jay Z’s the Blue Print. After cutting her first track to an old school rap instrumental in her aunts closet at 18, Harocaz was motivated to cultivate a style she could enjoy making music in. Later she was introduced to the diverse sounds of the techno/house/dance scene, she was then determined to make a space to fit her flows. Drawing inspiration off of women like Crystal Waters, Grace Jones, Missy Elliot, Santigold, and more, Harocaz has carved out a pocket in club music for home girl raps and fun melodies that are reminiscent to a care free summer night of raving. Still posted in Boston, she has help run a successful club night called RARE FOOTAGE and continues to navigate her assumed lane in house-hop, laying each brick as she goes.
